Route...NSH via Ayer Keroh...via Kluang...via Kahang...Mersing...and back...

17th-21st march Hatyai ride
|
|
Another episode of a not planned trip.... 
Meet up with Izat under his blk ard 1045pm..arrived at gelang patah 2nd link at 1135pm..refuelled and get sme snacks..At 1145pm,left....the nite was cold and the dark highway was welcomed by TDM and AT brite lites...well...i was cruising at 140km/hr..AT slow lah...hkekhkehke.... 
arived at Ayer Keroh Petronas at 130am.216km covered..my bike gone thru 14.2litre dat is 27.40RM...Izat AT higher...16litre and 31RM...
Continued the journey...and at bout 3.45am...after the seremban exit rite after KL...the fog was getting pretty bad...very bad indeed...have to use high beam n on the fog lite...visibility almost zero...
Arrived at Tapah at 4.18am..its 275km ride from aour last stop dat is Ayer Keroh..at tis stage.we were 491km from 2nd link...every stops to pump,the AT has to pump more than the TDM...we had our small snacks made of bread and tuna mix with cucumber,mayo...done by Izat's wifey..very nice...move off at 5am...
At 6.30am..stopped over at Bt Perak..rite after Ipoh tunnel...izat was getting abit sleep and had to go for toilet break...milege now is 632km oready...140km from Tapah....izat managed to steal a 15mins sleep....till we move again...
Arrived at Gurun at 8.15am..milege now is 750km...we're almost there...  bought our insurance there...cost is 17RM..sun oready up by now...smehow our fatigue and sleepyness almost gone...well...i hvnt sleep for more than 24hrs now....
Touch down at Thai border at 10am...total milege is 833km..82km from gurun....all smiles as we take a few minutes taking pictures at the gantry itself...Izat being the 1st timer..was so excited tat he barely can control hansem no more... ...
after custom clearance...we headed to Hatyai...
Arrived at the seat shop at 11am..60km off the border...met up wit Alex...our thai tour guide for the next 2hrs who helps us translate and brought us to our hotel...i managed to do my seat cover which cost only 22sgd....went to bike shop at 12pm to svc Izat AT...
We check-in at Hatyai Palace at 1230pm...guess hw much was the hotel sur-charge....22bux per nite...hw cool was tat...its the same price of my seat cover...
At 1250..went out for makan...still hvnt had my sleep yet...returned back to hotel at 135pm and had a nice cool shower...would have rest on the bathtub...but nahhh...slept at 245pm...woke up at 545pm wit only 2hrs of sleep... 
Went to bike shop to collect Izat"s bike and my seat cover...return back to hotel to put back my seat...
Once done...we took a TutTut to go shopping...i still remember the place whr the got this big Bazaar for clothing...but can't recal the name...but managed to ask Alex before he left...its Bus Petaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiii......must pronounce it like tat...if u jus pronounce it as petai....they dnt understand...  ...awesome place...clothings...shoes...guns...scorpions...u name it...
we were shoping till 11pm...returned to hotel and settle in...we decidedto go back the next day coz we dnt really noe where to go coz no tour guide oready...
Woke up at 9am...morning breakfast and go for a short shopping spree...walked across the busy st of Hatyai...saw a map of Thailand...well...from here to go to Phuket was a mere of another 500km...very tempting...but tot maybe the next ride....so we shop till 1130am...returned back to hotel to pack our stuff...check out was at 12pm...but pls take note...the time there at Hatyai is 1hr late then ours...we extend 1hr...we checked out at 220pm...move off at 250pm after a last minute shopping by Izat..
At 4pm...we arrived at border...custom clearance and all...
while riding...a tot came to my mind..why not we stopover Penang for a while since Izat's dream was to cross the Penang bridge...so why not make it happen...
Penang...at 6pm...scout ard town for food...makan our lucnh cum dinner,...at 620pm...we ride to Batu Ferringi...ride ard till we got ourselves kinda lost and headache...hehe....8pm oready..darn...ride ard town total 44km...at 915pm...we were at the petrol station and asked for direction to get back to the bridge...hehhe...to many diversion tat make me loose my navigation....we smehow managed to find our way thru...get back on track and soon we were on the highway again...
At 1125pm...we arrived at Tapah...refuel and short break...i was abit shaky....why...well...i thk i almost loose my life back on the highway....
Well...here it goes...was riding happily till 1 asshole was beaming his lite at high speed...i cant move forward cos infront of me got a car and to turn left is not an option at tat moment with quite a traffic on the highway...tat asshole still beaming his high beam and was very close to my bike as i recalled looking at my side-mirror...witout a choice and wit a little frustration..i managed to squeeze myself to the left...he overtook me...i moved back to the right path...and tot it would be no harm to giv him taste his own medicine..well...did the exact move like hw he did to me...trying to be a hero lah...well...stupid if me come to thk of it again...i thk smehow i succeed in getting him frustrated...he moved to the left and let me pass...smehow...i pull up the gas and hit the road...at 200km/hr...i could see tat he is tailing me...he smehw get very close behind me again wih alll the beam...damn...hw fast can my bike go...so still pulling the gas maybe he could giv up the chase which he didnt...so i pull the white flag...turn to the left reducing speed to 185km/hr...he was passing my bike and was swerving to my bike tyring to knock me down or smthg...den he jammed the freaking brake right infront of me@!!!!!....i could see the sparks fling off his discbrakes....his tyres were screeching...freaking hell!!!....tat really scared the shit out of me...i managed to brake in time...at 180km/hr to do a jam brake session issint tat fun...seeing me almost loosing control of my bike...he sped off...at tis point of time...i am still recovering from tat trauma of banging to his car at high speed...slow ride till Izat finally catch up...so much drama.....nvr play with proton perdana...
So,we now at Tapah...move off at 1150pm..Izat was tired n sleepy...he tot tat we could stopover KL for the nite...but smehw we arrived at Serembanat 1.30am..and decided tat we ride on...pump and go...left at 135pm...arrived at Pagoh at 244am...short break and snacks...320am move off...
Next stop and our last stop is at Gelang Patah...arrived at 430am...Izat was all pale...i tot bcoz he was sleepy...he told me he saw smethg...he was flashing his lite to me..but i dnt notice..it was before the left turn exit to 2nd link wen u will reach a toll...he saw the lady fly rite above him...as he was telling me tis...i hv goosebums all over...damn....he reached out for his cigg and was still looking pale...didnt taok much...he went over the male cashier and told him wat he jus saw...the dude over there told him its a common site...many witnessed tat sme thg at tat area too...sme unlucky riders even skidded..
So...there goes...a long story...total distance covered...1877km...total money spend on petrol...89.20RM+115.30RM.....to and back..

the plan was to pump petrol and a short ride to machap or smethg...but suddenly izat's wifey suggested to go up to malacca @ her aunt's restaurant for ikan bakar...so let's go....malacca it is then...

19th feb trail with Ah Guan
|
|
meet up at Ah guan shop @ 8.30am...the usual suspect...hot sunny day at 1st...but it was raining ard noon....while we were in the jungle...frm sandy,dusty,grassy route....to slippery and wet terrain...river-crossing,broken bridges,broken logs and trees and killer ruts...picts show it all...
We rolled up around 9.30am...9bikes in all....we started from a short tight trail,den comes to roller-coaster with sand and small gravels..didn't get the chance to take photo at tis stage...coz bz riding..came to main road and headed for refueling and sme food and drinks wen new-dirt got a puncture...well lucky..as usual,ah guan did all the dirty werk...another group of malaysian riders consist of 17bikes stopby for refueling...
We parted with them and headed for green lane again...Malaysia is just a bliss,with tree-covered mountains in every direction and natural terrain unlike here in singapore...all just buildings and traffic lites...
Weather starts to change and be gloomy...but it was a cool ride....but at tis stage,everythg is very sandy and dusty...although its a little open trail,but its winding terrain with small gravel may drift u away....you would be happy to be the lead...coz if not,dusty sands will end up in ur nose and eyes...my mistake,not wearing goggles as i m usiong visor...many times almost got off the path and overshot myself and it could end up a disaster but i was lucky enuff to pull myself away...past by sme small streams...around then we hit some real nice single-line tracks,which really fun where u ride hard and jumping thru broken logs and brunches...At one point..a fallen branch have blocked our lane...and ah guan use a dagger to cut sme piece of it and we dragged the remaining to the side....
Past noon,ard 2pm...we reached to the main road and headed for refueling at BP...had a short break and blasted off to river-crossing...it started to rain quite a bit...tis means danger....the logs tat act as bridges gets very wet and slippery....nasty ruts all the way...i thk everyone had at least a fall on tis trail....sani wasn't on his lucky day..riding with tyres tat almost no knobby left,got his bike under one of the log....looks preetty bad...but no one is injured in tis trail,,,,
we reached upon the river-crossing....looks maybe deceiving.....water seemed pretty shallow....but.....its pebbles and rocks...slippery rocks....u can't manage to ride thru...the best to past thru it is....to push and throttling it slowly not to over-revv the bike....tis may coz ur rear wheel to slide and ur bike in the water...well...it happens to one mate on a KTM525...bike drowned...while sme of the dudes is bz pushing the bike to the other side of the river,sme of us jus hv to distress ourselves by resting and washing ourselves in the water...very cooling and nice...ok,lets forget bout our sweet time with the water....to brg the bike up from the river to the water is another trouble....the slope is very slippery and there's not enuff distance for us to ride to the slope...alot of falling here....and sani's XR again in the bushes this time...he still regrettn for not changing his tyres...
Once all the bikes is up...alot more obstacles awaits us...small streams with muddy-slopes...a few log-bridges to overcome....the last one was very scary indeed...its quite a long distance to push alongside ur bike crossed a stream upon a big-long nasty broken log....lucky for me and 2 other bikes wen it comes to our turn,there;s another alternate route where we had to dive our bikes and ride it thru the stream which is shallow enuff not to drowned ourselves and the bike....
we came to a gathering where we seperated into 2groups....4 of us decided to go back by road while the rest by off-rd...
Reached ulu tiram ard 5pm...washed bikes and hv smethg to eat...our greatest mistake is to go thru the 1st link...heavy jammed...cleared the jam ard 7.50pm...got home at 8.05pm...showered....and left home for jamming session...oh gosh...
